From July 28 to August 24, 2026, Henry Huiyao Wang, Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), and Mabel Lu Miao, Co-founder and Secretary-General of CCG, took part in a series of meetings, visits, and international dialogues across France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Austria.
France
On July 28, Wang and Miao visited Asia Centre in Paris, where they met Arnaud Leveau, President of Asia Centre; Gilles Briatta, a former European affairs adviser to the French Prime Minister; and other senior experts from the think tank.
On July 30, Wang and Miao met Franck Paris, the newly appointed Secretary-General of the Paris Peace Forum, in Paris.
On August 2, Wang and Miao visited the Jean Monnet House in Houjarray, Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, in France’s Yvelines department. During the visit, they met Jean-Marc Lieberherr, a grandson of Jean Monnet and Co-founder and Chairman of the Institut Jean Monnet.
United Kingdom
On August 6, Wang and Miao met Peter Trubowitz, Professor of International Relations and Director of the US Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
On August 7, Wang and Miao met Barnabas “Barney” Reynolds, partner in Sullivan & Cromwell LLP’s Financial Services Group. Following the meeting, they invited him to be the featured speaker at a CCG breakfast roundtable in Beijing on August 16.
On August 9, Wang met Alistair Michie, Secretary-General of the British East Asia Council and a recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, in Edinburgh.
They revisited Consensus or Conflict? China and Globalization in the 21st Century, the English-language volume they jointly conceived and edited in 2021.
On August 10, Wang and Miao met Barry Buzan, Emeritus Professor of International Relations at the LSE and a Fellow of the British Academy, in London.
On August 14, Wang and Miao visited the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), where they held discussions with Caroline Quinn, Deputy Head of the China Department at the Asia-Pacific Directorate; Fiona Henry, Head of the Hong Kong Team, NE Asia and China Directorate; Dr Chris Bond, Deputy Head of Research Analysts in the Asia Pacific Research Group; and Emily Riddell, Senior Research Analyst (China Foreign Policy), Asia Pacific Research Group.
On August 15, Wang and Miao met Professor Birgitte Andersen, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of the Big Innovation Centre, in London.
Brazil
From August 15 to 19, Wang attended the Paraty Dialogues in Brazil.
On August 20, Wang recorded a conversation with Trita Parsi, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft.
Austria
From August 23 to 24, Wang and Miao attended the 2026 Trilogue Salzburg in Salzburg, Austria.
During the event, Wang exchanged views with the founders of the 25th 2026 Trilogue Salzburg — Wolfgang Schüssel, former Chancellor of Austria, and Liz Mohn, Founder of the Liz Mohn Foundation.
