New Year Message 2026: Reflecting on a Year of Global Dialogue and Growth
Strengthening ties and sharing insights—exploring the achievements that defined our mission over the past year.
As the extraordinary 2025 draws to a close and the first quarter of the 21st century concludes, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) extends its warmest greetings. This transition to 2026 is an opportunity to reflect on a year of significant progress. CCG is deeply grateful for your continued support and is pleased to share the highlights of its work over the past 366 days.
I. Global Presence and Forum Participation
In 2025, CCG delegations conducted three major world tours, visiting 20 countries and nearly 30 cities across five continents. CCG was an active participant in over 100 high-level events across 20 countries, engaging with the world’s most influential platforms, including:
Security & Geopolitics: The Munich Security Conference, where the delegation hosted a thematic seminar and a joint official book talk, the Paris Peace Forum, the Doha Forum, and the Limes Geopolitical Forum and the Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate Forum.
Economic & Strategic Dialogue: Semafor’s World Economy Summit, the Global Solutions Summit, the Next Milan Forum, and the Horasis Global Meeting (Brazil), the Kearney Global CEO Retreat, the MY WAY Strategy Summit, and the Deutsch-Chinesischer Wirtschaftstag.
Regional & Thematic Platforms: The Delphi Economic Forum (Greece), the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (Turkey), the Bled Strategic Forum (Slovenia), the Salzburg Trilogue Annual Meeting (Austria, online participation), the 11th MMPEI Forum in Romania, the stars Switzerland symposium, the TRT World Forum (Istanbul), the Sir Bani Yas Forum (Abu Dhabi), the 2025 Asia Leaders Series Annual Meeting (Switzerland), the 2nd Going Global Summit (Singapore), the Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy.
Specialized Summits: The AI Action Summit (France) and the Ambassadors and International Network Conference (Switzerland).
Think Tank & Institutional Engagement: The Roundtable Japan, Summer Summit: China, the Bruegel Annual Meeting 2025, the EU-China Think Tank Exchanges meeting implemented by EPC and Elcano Royal Institute, the Carlton Club Dinner Seminar, the Brazil-China Business Council annual conference, and the UNCT Pakistan Strategic Retreat.
Multilateral Leadership:
United Nations: CCG President Henry Huiyao Wang spoke as a briefer at a UN Security Council Arria-formula meeting in New York, addressing the impact of unilateralism and bullying on international relations.
Doha Forum Partnership: CCG convened a session titled “U.S.–China Relations: Navigating the Risks and Opportunities of a Changing Global Order” in partnership with the Doha Forum。
G20-Related Events: Participation in the Munich Strategy Retreat Johannesburg 2025.
II. CCG Flagship Events
Throughout the year, CCG convened international leaders and experts through its signature brand forums to foster consensus on global development:
Signature Forums: Successfully hosted 7 major brand forums, including the 11th China and Globalization Forum, the 12th China Inbound-Outbound Forum, the 10th China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum, the Global Talent Summit 2025, Global Young Leaders Dialogue Annual Forum, and the China Talent 50 Forum.
Domestic Partnerships: Successfully held a parallel session at the annual Hongqiao International Economic Forum, as well as youth and women’s roundtables in partnership with the Boao Forum for Asia.
III. High-Level Dialogues and Distinguished Speakers
CCG continues to facilitate candid exchange through its Global Dialogue Series and CCG VIP Luncheons. In 2025, these sessions featured an extraordinary roster of participants, including:
International Officials & Diplomats: Gordan Grlić-Radman (Foreign Minister, Croatia), Margus Tsahkna (Foreign Minister, Estonia), Jeppe Kofod (Former FM, Denmark), Gabriela Ramos (Former Assistant Director-General, UNESCO), and Kishore Mahbubani (Former Singaporean Permanent Representative to the UN).
Renowned Scholars: Adam Tooze (Columbia University), Peter Trubowitz (LSE), and Suisheng Zhao (University of Denver).
Media Leaders: Ravi Agrawal (Editor-in-Chief, Foreign Policy).
Video recordings and transcripts of most CCG events are available on CCG’s YouTube channel and via the CCG Update newsletter. Moving forward, CCG remains dedicated to striving for openness and accessibility of its public activities, and in the process, upholding transparency.
IV. Research, Publications, and Intellectual Leadership
CCG continues to provide data-driven insights and policy recommendations to address global challenges:
Books & Blue Books: Facilitated the publication of 10 books—3 in English, 5 in simplified Chinese, and 2 in traditional Chinese
Policy Impact: Completed 10 government-commissioned projects and submitted over 120 policy recommendations, focusing on supply chain stability, digital economy collaboration, and green trade transitions.
CCG Book Catalogue 2025
In 2025, CCG facilitated the publication of 10 books—3 in English, 5 in simplified Chinese, and 2 in traditional Chinese. These publications are meant to offer the world a China-based lens, and to bring global perspectives to Chinese readers. VI. International Communication
The three CCG English-language newsletters—CCG Update, Pekingnology, and The East is Read—reach a combined total of over 40,000 subscribers with 4 million views. CCG experts remained a frequent presence in global media outlets, having appeared in CNN, Bloomberg, Financial Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, etc.
