I support dialogue on human rights between China and Europe, but shouldn't it be two ways? There are a lot of human rights issues in Europe (e.g., over the treatment of migrants) and Europe might learn from China about how to respect minority cultural rights. (Just think of how Muslims are treated in Europe vs China.)

So yes, let's talk about human rights. Europe needs to do much more to improve on its human rights record (especially as it relates to foreign policy).

With regards to the "existential issue" (ie, Ukraine), there is a simple solution. Just tell Ukraine to adopt China's "one country two systems" approach. Ukraine needs to respect the rights of Russians in the Donbass region. Let Eastern Ukraine have their own president, elections, independent monetary policy, independent trade policy, independent currency, etc. It would resolve all the issues.
