From Trump 1.0 to 2.0: Shifts and Analysis of China–U.S. Relations
On July 18 at 1:00 PM, Suisheng Zhao, Professor and Director of the Center for China-US Cooperation at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs, University of Denver, will speak at the Centre for China and Globalisation (CCG) on the theme “From Trump 1.0 to 2.0: Shifts and Analysis of China–U.S. Relations.”
The 90-minute event will feature keynote remarks by Zhao, a conversation with Henry Huiyao Wang, CCG President, and a live audience Q&A session.

This offline event will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese. Please only register if you are fluent in Mandarin, as no interpretation will be provided. Registration is required and available via Eventbrite.

Suisheng Zhao is a Professor and Director of the Center for China-US Cooperation at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs, University of Denver. A Campbell National Fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University, he is the founder and editor of the Journal of Contemporary China, a leading, SSCI-indexed publication.
He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of California-San Diego, an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Missouri, and a BA and M.A. in economics from Peking University.
A prolific scholar, Zhao has authored and edited over two dozen books and hundreds of academic articles. His monographs include A Nation‑State by Construction (2004), tracing modern Chinese nationalism, and Power by Design (1996), analysing constitutional formation in Nationalist China.
His most recent book is The Dragon Roars Back: Transformational Leaders and Dynamics of Chinese Foreign Policy (Stanford University Press, 2023 and was named one of “Best of Books 2024” by Foreign Affairs magazine.
