Register for seminar: Women and Renewable Energy
CCG in partnership with the Embassy of Iceland will organise a seminar on Thursday 6 March 2025 in celebration of women's participation in the energy sector.
On the Occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Embassy of Iceland in China and of the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, the Embassy of Iceland in partnership with the Centre for China & Globalization (CCG) will organise a seminar entitled Women & Renewable Energy on Thursday 6 March 2025.
The seminar discussion will build on the green transition efforts of Iceland and China, highlighting how women contribute to the development of renewable energy. Both countries have made notable progress towards their ambitious plans to reach carbon neutrality; China playing a critical role in the global transition with investment in clean energy supply and Iceland using geothermal and hydropower energy to provide for 100% of its electricity and heating needs.
Furthermore, both Iceland and China have made strides in increasing women's participation in the energy sector, demonstrating the benefits of women driving innovation and progress. By learning from these models, we can identify key strategies to involve more women in the renewable energy sector.
