Portugal's Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel visits CCG
Portugals' FM met with CCG on his first day in China.
On March 24, 2025, Portugal's Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel led a high-level delegation to visit the Beijing headquarters of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG). During the visit, he met with CCG President Henry Huiyao Wang, Vice President Victor Gao, Deputy Secretary General Zhang Wei, and Senior Research Fellow Xie Peihong.
Rangel’s official trip to China, running from March 24 to 28, included the meeting with CCG on the first day of his agenda.
The next day, on March 25, Rangel met with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and China’s Foreign Minister, for the second China-Portugal strategic dialogue at the foreign ministers’ level in Beijing.
Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, also held talks with Rangel on March 25.
During the meeting, Henry Huiyao Wang shared his takeaways from his recent participation in the China Development Forum and expressed CCG’s commitment to strengthening ties with Portuguese and European think tanks.
Other members of the delegation included Paulo Jorge Nascimento, Ambassador of Portugal to China and Helena Malcata, Ambassador and Director-General of Foreign Policy at Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
